7 Steps to Advertise on Facebook

If you already have a Facebook page for your business, then you can follow these steps to create successful ads using Facebook Ads Manager:

Step 1: Choose the Objective of Your Advertisement

One of the great things about Facebook ads is that they offer a variety of marketing objectives for you to choose from to help you optimize your ads and get the best results. To select one that is appropriate for your business needs, you can log into Facebook Ads Manager, click on the Campaigns tab, then select Create to start a new campaign. You will find 11 different marketing objectives, such as brand awareness, reach, traffic, and many others to choose from based on the objective you need for your business.

Step 2: Find a Suitable Title for Your Campaign

The next step is to name your ad campaign to monitor it on the Facebook Ads Manager. In this step, you will also be able to choose the focus of the posts and decide whether you want to highlight post engagement, page likes, or event responses.

Step 3: Enter Ad Account Details

To get your ads up and running, you need to set up your ad account by entering key information. Click on Set Up Ad Account and fill in the necessary details such as country, currency, and time zone.

Step 4: Target the Right Audience

One of the advantages of Facebook as a marketing platform is that it allows you to focus on specific criteria in targeting your audience, unlike any other platform. To start choosing the target audience for your ads, open your Facebook ad campaign, and choose which page to promote. Then, scroll down until you find the option that allows you to add a custom audience of people who are already familiar with your business.  The next step is to choose your target location, age, gender, and language. As you add more optimizations, the approximate reach indicator displayed on the right side of the screen will work more accurately.  To increase the return on investment, you need to use detailed targeting to reach the correct target audience.

Detailed Targeting: In this field, you’ll be able to decide whom to target based on demographics, interests, and behaviors. This is where you can get really specific and choose to target people who follow bridal stores, for example.

Connections: You can either choose to target your audience or someone who has interacted with your page before, or choose to exclude them entirely to reach new audiences by selecting Exclude people who like your page. However, if your main focus will be your existing audience, then you can select People who like your page.

Step 5: Choose Where Your Ad Will Appear

The next step is to decide where your ads will show. There is an option that allows your ads to appear on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger, allowing you to get through to a different audience on several platforms by using the Automatic Placements option. However, you could also choose to specify a type of device, platform, or placement, such as feeds, stories, messages, or even articles.

Step 6: Budgeting

Once you have a fixed budget set, it is time to decide how to allocate that money to the Facebook ad campaign. You can select a daily or lifetime budget and decide on the start and end dates. Then, you decide whether you want the ad to go live straight away or schedule it for a time in the future. Keep in mind that you can choose an optional cost and bid control to ensure you do not go over budget, as there is a cap in place per action rather than for the overall campaign.

Step 7: Create Your Ad

After choosing your ad format based on your objectives, you can use the preview tool at the bottom of the page to get an idea of how your ad will appear in different placements. Once you are satisfied, you can click the green Confirm button to submit the order and then wait for an email confirmation from Facebook to notify you of the ad approval.  Facebook ads are becoming a cheap alternative to many other types of advertising, and they are much more effective. That is why your business must understand how to make the most of Facebook advertising and capitalize on it while it’s still relatively cheap. With these tools and tips, you will have a basic understanding of how your business can benefit from Facebook marketing.
